a day for change

Well, the sun rose this morning, and Matthew's head popped off the pillow and he smiled a big smile... (well, it popped off the pillow after his mom told him to get up twice... "Five more minutes, Mom...") He smiled because this was the day... the day for a big change...

Yes, folks, today I re-did my room... I moved my bed, my dresser, my lamp, my bedside table, my lava lamp, my pictures... it's great... feels much more roomy, and it will be much nicer to spend time in my room now... I like my room... I like spending time in my room... it's my room... it's a happy room... it's mine... it's comfy... it's cozy... it's perfect for reading, it has my stuff in it, it has Dish, (ugh! I WANT CABLE! SICK OF NOT HAVING CBS, ABC, and all those other channels I'm missing the Rams and Chiefs games on!!!!) it has a very nifty lava lamp (gotta get more! I want an orange one with black lava!! oh, and green lava would be cool too!) , and by gollies, it's just nice... :-) (other than the Dish... don't get me started again!) Anyway, the point is, I like my room, and now it's re-sitchy-ated... :-)

The other news I forgot to mention last night was that we went to Alabama last month... Chuck passed away, and while he will be remembered and missed, I must say it was a cool funeral... weird to say I know... also the longest funeral I have ever attended, but it was fun... that sounds somewhat morbid, but really it is not... Chuck planned every last detail of his "home going" party, right down to the praise band, drum solo, and Bill Clanahan concert... it was great to meet a lot of their family I had never met... I made a couple of friends, Matthew and Brandon, and had a really great time playing pool and hanging out... even though they are from Texas and were rooting the Astros all the way... I was there with them when Astros beat the Cards that last game... they were rejoicing... and then I got to laugh as I realized that they went to see the Astros go down 0-4 to the Sox in the World Series! GO SOX!!!! GO ANYBODY BUT THE ASTROS! LOL

Today was youth group... then praise band practice for the Sunday morning music... that's sweet... then choir practice... dinner at Wendy's in there somewhere too...

So, got this joke, know it's a little late, but it's still hilarious! :-)

A cabbie picks up a Nun. She gets into the cab, and notices that the VERY handsome cab driver won't stop staring at her.

She asks him why he is staring.

He replies: "I have a question to ask you but I don't want to offend you"

She answers, " My son, you cannot offend me. When you're as old as I am and have been a nun as long as I have, you get a chance to see and hear just about everything. I'm sure that there's nothing you could say or ask that I would find offensive."

"Well, I've always had a fantasy to have a nun kiss me."

She responds, "Well, let's see what we can do about that: #1, you have to be single and #2, you must be Catholic."

The cab driver is very excited and says, "Yes, I'm single and Catholic!"

"OK" the nun says. "Pull into the next alley." The nun fulfills his fantasy with a kiss that would make a truck driver blush. But when they get back on the road, the cab driver starts crying.

"My dear child," said the nun, why are! you crying?"

"Forgive me but I've sinned. I lied and I must confess, I'm married and I'm Jewish."

The nun says, "That's OK. My name is Kevin and I'm going to a Halloween party."
