Yay! :-)

I ordered my laptop today... I talked to an actual human on the phone, and he customized it and got me the best deal I could get as close to $1000 as I could get... Made a few upgrades and a few downgrades, but overall, I'm thrilled with the outcome... Here's what I got:

Dell Inspiron 6000
Intel Pentium MProcessor 725 (1.60GHz/2MB Cache/533MHz FSB)
15.4 inch WSXGA+ LCD Panel
512MB, Shared DDR2,533MHZ 2 Dimms
Integrated Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 900
80GB Ultra ATA Hard Drive
Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005
8X DVD+/-RW Drive
CyberLink PowerDVD v5.5 Decoding Sofware for DVD Drives
Intel PRO/Wireless 2200 Internal Wireless (802.11b/g,54Mbps)
53 WHr 6-cell Lithium Ion Primary Battery
Nylon Backpack (free)
1 Year Limited Warranty, Technical Support, Mail-In Service, 24x7 Technical Support
Subtotal: $1,020.20
Shipping and Handling: $24.00
Tax: $44.12
Total: $1,088.32

I am happy with the outcome... If I need more storage, and I really shouldn't for a long time, I can get an external hd... and if I wanted to upgrade the RAM, I'm sure Today's Computers would do it...

Anyway, I'm a happy boy... :-)
